This space will be used to collaboratively shape weekly topics for for this open, online course designed to help faculty, students and staff work through the various elements of using video creatively to present their ideas.
Week 1: What does your rig look like?
This week will focus on the various equipment and tools you need to produce video effectively.
Week 2: Lights, Camera, Action!
This week we will go through the basics of lighting your video, creation various shots, and essentially underlining the importance lighting and your green screen to capture a solid shot.
Week 3: Sound: Is this thing on?
This week will focus on the importance of a good microphone, how to adjust levels, and the power of multiple sound channels and a virtual audio mixer for multi-layered presentation.
Week 4: Multiple Input shots and the Power of Layering Video in OBS Scenes
Now that the fundamentals around lighting, audio, and capturing a solid single-shot video, this week will explore incorporating additional inputs (shots) using the streaming software Open Broadcasting Software.
Week 5: Getting Deeper into OBS - the power of the Chroma Key
This week will be dedicated to exploring the power of a chroma key and integrating your single video shot across multiple shots to create a sense of presence and cohesion to your videos.
